• Seating is limited: a long wooden table by the window looking out onto the alley, a few small round tables near the counter, two or three chairs on the porch, and a mezzanine that seats a group of three or four. Suits solo visitors or groups of two or three; not a place for a big group.

Atmosphere

• The venue sits deep in the alley at 42C Trần Hưng Đạo, with no street frontage — the official post calls it a 'quán cà phê trong con ngõ nhỏ' (a café in a small alley) in a collective housing block, one storey plus a wire-mesh mezzanine, a wooden bar counter on a concrete plinth, and yellow walls. This is the first store of the Eggyolk Coffee chain, born during COVID-19; by 2026 the chain has 10 branches but the original address is still this alley.

• People come for egg coffee at the original store of a brand that is taking this drink abroad — Eggyolk's packaging won the Dieline Awards and Pentawards 2024 — and to sit in a quiet collective-housing alley in the middle of the old French quarter. Early morning after 7 o'clock is when a seat is easiest to find.

Dining options

• The menu is built on egg coffee by number of yolks — one egg 65,000 VND, two eggs 85,000 VND, with an iced version and a cacao/matcha egg version at the same price; the signature drinks Bình Minh and Hoàng Hôn 45,000 VND; croissants 65,000–75,000 VND and an egg coffee plus croissant combo 120,000 VND. Beans and instant egg coffee are sold to take home. There is no service charge or extra VAT when ordering online.

• Online ordering, delivery and self-pickup via iPOS, accepting online orders 07:00–17:00 every day; online payment by cash on receipt, MoMo, ZaloPay, bank transfer, OnePay. Motorbikes are parked at the head of the alley with an attendant; Trần Hưng Đạo is a one-way street and the POS profile says there is no car parking. Card payment at the counter could not be verified from the venue itself.
